YOUr Advocate Consulting (YAC), LLC was founded by Dr. Trinisia Brooks, a Healing-Centered Engagement Practitioner, whose career is rooted in education and community-based initiatives. Her work centers on building awareness, strengthening capacity, and uplifting community voices through an asset-based approach. As a leader, researcher, and advocate, Dr. Brooks specializes in healing-centered engagement, community-based leadership, and inclusiveness in education. A proud native of the Mississippi Delta, she brings a deep commitment to resilience, learning, and community impact, grounded in culturally responsive, trauma-informed practices.

Dr. Brooks earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern Indiana, where she was recognized as the Most Distinguished Graduate and nominated to deliver the reflection speech on behalf of her fellow graduates at the commencement ceremony. She is also a recipient of but not limited to the Sadelle Berger Award, a distinguished honor presented through the Mayor’s Administration. While completing her doctorate, she remained an active practitioner, leading community-based work that informed and strengthened her research and leadership. Her scholarly work is directly aligned with the services provided by YOUr Advocate Consulting, LLC.
Her professional experience includes developing Functional Behavior Assessments to identify root causes of student needs at the general and special education level, grounded in the voices and perspectives of families. In addition, she has successfully overseen afterschool programs at both the state and federal levels, with a focus on comprehensive-high quality programming and strategic community partnerships that includes collaboration with the Mayor’s Administration to help develop a city-wide literacy initiative.
